FINAL PROJECT
PART 1:
Instruction
Core Task: Produce a 1-2 minute animated infographic based on the FLIP group topic research.
Video Specifications: 1920px x 1080px (Full HD), maximum 2 minutes duration.
Target Purpose: Defining a concept (Kopitiam Culture) and explaining a process (The Ordering System).

Design Frameworks Applied:
Organization: L.A.T.C.H. Principles and Content Organization.
Aesthetics: Animation principles (Timing, Easing, etc.) and Collage Art Style.
Cognitive: Principles of visualization, ensuring multivariate graphics (integrating words, numbers, and images).

Final Deliverables: YouTube unlisted video link, Proposal slides, and an individual reflective study (this post).

Week 3
In the third week, Group members (Hui Zhen, Yu Rou) and I brainstormed various topics. We considered "Longyearbyen", "Kopitiam Culture" and "Wine," but after a consultation with Mr. Fauzi, we pivoted to Kopitiam Culture
We felt this topic had a deeper local resonance and offered richer visual possibilities for an infographic report.
To organize our vast amount of research, we applied the L.A.T.C.H (Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, Hierarchy) technique.
Due to the limited length of the video, we have decided to focus on the introduction, history and sorting system in the video.

Lam Hui Zhen: Introduction and history
Chang Yu Rou: Ordering System
Liu Yi Tong: Culture Impact

In the "Cultural Impact" section of my presentation, I focused on how Kopitiam have evolved and persisted in Malaysia up to the present day.
We decided to prioritize the script over the storyboard to ensure our narrative flow was logical. We chose a Digital Paper Collage Animation style. This aesthetic choice was intentional: the "collage" feel mirrors the diverse, layered, and historical nature of Kopitiams.

Week 5&6
Based on the script we started to create the storyboard for each scene.
My task was to ensure the "Culture Impact" section transitioned smoothly from Yu Rou's "Ordering System."

Week 8 - 11
During these 3 weeks, we start with the video editing.

Task distribution
Video Editing: Lam Hui Zhen, Liu Yitong
Sound Effect: Chang Yu Rou
Voice Record: Lam Hui Zhen

Animation & Editing (Software: CapCut): While CapCut is often seen as a simple tool, we utilized its advanced keyframe functions and overlay features to achieve the collage look. I focused on:
Fig.2.3 The editing process 1
Animation Principles: Implementing "Ease-in and Ease-out" and "Squash and Stretch" to make the paper elements feel tactile and dynamic.
Fig.2.4 The editing process 2
Multivariate Visuals: Integrating text, vintage photos, and icons within a single frame to show the causality between historical migration and modern coffee shop habits.

REFLECTION
Reflecting on this 14-week journey, this project was more than just a video assignment; it was a deep dive into information design and storytelling. My contribution was centered on exploring the Culture Impact of Kopitiams and translating our collective research into a cohesive Collage-style animation.
